TERMINAL; dances for organ
“TERMINAL; dances for organ” is an urgent inquiry into the human instinct towards transcendence in the age of artificial intelligence. Can an AI bring us toward a collective metamorphosis? Or, does the very nature of artificial intelligence preclude the potential for a shared unconscious. In the baroque setting of the Sophienkirche, this 60-minute AI-modified choreography will trace our pursuit of the sublime from the ostentation of the baroque court, through religious reverence, into club culture, and directly into the trappings of modern algorithmic rabbit holes in order to understand what it is that keeps us yearning. Together with the powerful Shuke organ of Sophienkirche, three dancers offer their movements for an evening of data extraction. Will their dance with the AI be a shared minuet or an extravagant leveraging of their longing towards something more than themselves?
